Amp/setup advice
I have a MY00PPP and have started upgrading the ice.
I have:
Pioneer KEH+P8600R head unit (4x45watt 1xfront pre-out, 1xrear pre-out and 1xsubwoofer preout)
Pioneer CDX P670 CD Multi-changer
Pioneer 12" 400watt Sub (in ported box)
I need some advice about a nice speaker set-up to go with this kit.
Ive followed a few threads that recommend the Infinity 605s for the front. Do you guys amplify these or run them from the head unit?
Also what sort of amp/s would you suggest to run the kit.
I was going to go for two identical bridgeable 2 channel amps. One for the sub giving a 300watt mono output (run from the subwoofer pre-out) and the other running the Infinity's up front (run from the front pre-out). Is there a more efficient set-up to achieve the same delivery to the speakers?
And finally (sorry guys but I'm not too hot on ICE) is it worth upgrading the rears?

Amplify the 605CS. Then you will be able to give them about 8 times as much power as your headunit could (really). A 4 channel amp would do the trick with bridging 2 channels for the sub as you describe, other 2 for the 605CS or whatever you get.
