Default In car MP3 DVD player advice wanted

Hi Guys

Been looking at upgrading my head unit in my Scoob. My Sony Minidisc and 10 disc changer is looking a little tired so its about time to change.

What I am looking for

Play MP3/CD/DVD and DVDR/CDR, must be able to be compatible with my 10 disc Sony changer..

So just seen this Sony MEX-R5. Cracking price as Halfords are selling it for £399.

Not worried about a LCD screen but that can come later but want to be able to run MP3’s off a DVD but don’t want to suffer lengthy shuffle time that the Sony MEX-R1 suffered with

Anyone have any advice or experience with this sort of ICE ?

Cheers

Neal

firstly, does your 10 disc changer play mp3s?,(i dont thing many, if any at all do?) if not id sell the old unit and changer to get some money back, reason being, if you buy an mp3 player, you can fit so many albums onto one disc, theres really no point in a changer, also being a dvd player, it "might" (somebody correct me if im wrong) play a 4.7Gb dvd disc full of mp3s... lots and lots of tunes ..

If you do go that way about it, i would recommend an alpine head unit, others might disagree..

I wanted to keep the disc changer as I cant be bothered to copy my existing discs onto MP3. But not worried if it has to go.
