Default MY05 - what came out / what went in - pics

Vehicle: MY05 WRX 300

As I think we all appreciate that the current Scooby standard ICE is fairly rubbish, I just thought
I would post some pics of what it actually looks like, in the hope that this helps people in the future.

So, for reference, what came out is in Section 1 & what went back in is Section 2, although
this is obviously my choice and not a formal recommendation

Section 1

front: a fairly substantial speaker -

Rear : this speaker is as light as a feather !! -

Original Head Unit:

Section 2 - what went back in

Front: Kenwood KFC PSR 177C ,
170mm 2-way, 200W peak power, New Dual mags (so very shallow) [Aperture size: 6.5"]

Rear: Pioneer TS-E1396, 130 mm, 3-way - tweeter angled forward

Boot: Fli Trap Active 12" (made by Vibe)

with custom grill & Pro Velcro holding it down

Head Unit: Kenwood DDX 7025

out of interest how much were the speakers? were they a direct swop, or did you have to faff about with spacers?

cheers

stormyuklondon1: the whole lot INCLUDING FITTING came to just under £1500. I would do a google search yourself and see what prices you can get the speakers for individually.

The fitter said he didn't have any probs getting them in so either they didn't need any modifications, or most shops will have the right bits to do it.

So how do you get stuff for two adults and two large teenagers for a week away into the boot then? Or is that a daft question?

Even though I am blessed with NOT having kids, I'm guessing that even without the sub in the boot it's going to be a tight fit for 4 peeps for a week

Numerous suggestions spring to mind - most too rude to post:

1. buy a Volvo Estate

2. buy a roof box

3. don't go on holiday with the kids....

etc
