Default pre out and amp question......

hi there,
ive got a pioneer indash dvd,cd,mp3 player(no internal amp)........not installed yet
it has one set of audio pre outs that i can see.......can the one set of connectors be used to power 4 speakers (through an amp of course).
do i just get a 2channel amp and just connect 2 speakers to each output on the amp?
sorry if either i havent explained it well or if ive got it completely wrong but i know nothing about amps, crossovers etc.......
thanks.BDS.

Short answer is yes.

Slightly longer answer is that it depends on the features of the amp. and how you cable it all up.

No internal amp. and only one set of pre-outs sounds a little unusual. Are you sure there's not another set of pre-outs somewhere?

J.

it has a second set for rear screens but it says not to connect em to an amp......it has an optical out to go to a pioneer sound processor but i dont want to go silly with it.
ive been having a read and think im gonna buy a 4 channel amp and use splitters to split the rca audio out...........then change all 4 speakers.
that should be ok....what do u rekon?
