Question

Has anyone mounted any subs in the rear qaurter panels next to the back seats in a P1 or a type R. I have seen on the I-club in the US that a few people have done this.
I was just wondering if anyone in the UK could give their view's of this mod in terms of listening enhancement and if there is any rattles etc after extended use.

Also what sub's would you reccomend to mount in this postion?

Thanks Ian

I did this in a Fiesta, and also tried in a Clio. Works well, and is very stealty.

Downside with the impreza is panels are expensive, so make sure you don't damage 'em.

I'd be interested to see how you got on...

Regarding subs, choose something that has a very small box requirement. I used a sealed box with a JL 10W6 in it in the Clio, and 2 8"s in the fiesta. I'd consider the CD Technologies sub, as it's designed for tiny spaces...

Nick,

What do you call small?. Any chance the CD Technologies would fit inside a purpose built box under the drivers seat?. Are there any good websites that sell 'em & give this sort of info. Thanks.

The Inifinity Uniplanes are really thin and so fit quite well up front (I didn't like the sound though).

There's also the new focal 5" sub which doesn't need much box space.

Some of the smaller Macroms work well in small boxes too.

For any of these, you'll need to be pretty handy with the MDF or fibreglass......

v. true on the infinity UniPlanes. There's an 8" that I remember Car Stereo and Security playing with in the front of a car, in the floor. Worked well, by all accounts.

CD tech stuff - erm, can't remember. Try

I think a trip to the local ICE centre is required, thanks for the replies.
