Default SONY CDX-M8800

Ok, it's doing my nut in now....

Can anyone tell me how to wire up the Sony M8800 unit, so that :-

a) it retains it's settings

and

b) it also turns off when the key is removed from the ignition.

I've currently got it set to stay alive from batt power, but my neighbours and myself are getting annoyed if I leave the car alone for 3 days and the battery is flat. {Cue noisy alarm }

Anyone?

If you'd asked me that 3 years ago, I would have told you the answer, as I had the same problem on a Sony HU. I think there was something about the remote wire which caused the problem. I think it may have been that the HU didnt have one and so I had to get one into a spare socket in the adapter.

If you check on the male connector - the white wire in the bottom corner is the Remote wire, just check if the HU has anything wire going into the adapter to connect to this.

Sounds like you have your battery live & ignition live round the wrong way, swap them around and everything should be hunky dory (famous last words)
