Default New gadget I bought to play MP3's in car

Hi,

Just thought I would share with you a new gadget I bought today to play MP3's in the car as it works so well I'm well impressed.

Basically its a small device that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket and allows me to plug in my USB memory stick full off Mp3's.
It then tansmits them to a blank radio station and plays it through the stereo, it works so well and was well cheap only £35.
It even has a 3.5mm socket on it so I'm going to try my Ipod in it tomorrow.
Will update if anyones interested.

Dave.

PS how many songs can I get on a 512mb stick and whats best to do the MP3 compression?

Sounds quite good for that kinda money. Is that through a Kenwood unit?

Hi,

You can use it through any radio, basically the little device transmits a 1watt signal onto a a choice of 7 different radio stations so you just tune in your radio to it and off it goes.

It transmits on 1 watt and I tried tuning a car next to it in to the frequency and could only just receive it.

I got it from www.medwaycomputers.co.uk.

They supply me with all my IT equipment and gadgets.

You should have put it on the order with your Mp3 Transmitter, they sell all of the USB pens.

I have a 2gig on order with them, not for th Mp3's but for work use.

Yeah should of ordered one although trying not to spend money at the moment as the cars in having a new clutch kit fit today so thats costing an arm and a leg. The MP3 transmitter was to take my mind off the pain of losing so much cash

I'll back up my USB pen for now while testing it out, i suppose it shouldnt go deleting stuff on it but you never know with these new fangled devices.

Oh, it arrived today at about 2pm and looks great. Just need the car back now to muck around with it

He has another shipment coming in around Friday, need one for misses car, plus 3 of me friends.

Collecting me 2gig USB drive aswell, maybe I will try it in the Mp3 transmitter.

As 2gigs of Mp3's will last quite a long journey.

Robot hoover? Sounds great - does it make the tea and do the washing too? I've got one that does, but I can't seem to disable the back-chat function lol

Yep very illegal indeed!

I wouldnt want to sit within 1ft of a 1W broadcast every day, can't be good for you. A digital phone averages about 250mW, so four times that!

Well lucky its the 1watt version and not the 4 watt that they do.
I used to have a portable CB that transmitted 4 watts on FM with the aerial next to my head and a legal license (hmm).
Saying that whats the power output of my wireless in the house, the cellular aerial next to my works it can go on and on.

Okay 1W of electro-magnetic radiation isn't great however the FM frequency spectrum is around 88 - 110 MHz. Mobile phones transmit at either 0.9 or 1.8 GHz, a much higher frequency and similar to that produced by a microwave oven. That's the main cause for concern as the microwaves eminating from your mobile phone have been shown to excite the water molecules in your brain causing it to heat up a bit.

But it doesnt look as smart.
Also there is the £15.00 delivery, import duty, and it doesnt come with a lead for use with an external device.

Also :
Buyer will be responsible for all warranty shipping & handling to our Hong Kong Customer Service Support Centre.
Sorry for No refund.

I know where I would get mine from.
