Question Alpine Head Unit - fascia compatibility/testing

Managed to lose the fascia of my Alpine CDA-7893 during a house move - Alpine wanted £150 for a replacement

Luckily I managed to find one on eBay - it's slightly different in that my original one was black and had switchable amber/green illumination. This one is silver and has blue illumination. Other than that, they appear to be identical and share the same manual on the Alpine site.

Anyone know if it'll work, or is it a case of fingers crossed?

Whilst I'm at it, is there any way to test it's working without actually installing it in the car? It's one of the Alpine HUs that requires connecting directly to the battery so I'm a bit reluctant to get it all installed only to find it doesn't work/isn't compatible!

Thanks

Should work, sounds like it is just a different illumination colour option.

Do you have the FULL model number of the 'blue' one?

It says CDA-7893 on the fascia.

It's worth buying, you can always stick it back on ebay if it doesn't work.

It look slike the second one (the new one) is a swing fascia but I'm not sure if your original one was (it doesn't seem so). Thus a swing facia would not work in your old system (not just the swing but I think the mounting points vary as well). Might be worth asking for a pic of the back of the facia to see...

You can alter the angle of the fascia on my old one - it's just that it's sitting flush in the first pic.

Gone and bought it now so fingers crossed!
