Most people put either 6x9s or 16cms....

however, you'll find that some people don't bother coz of the lack of benefits in sound.

The main advantage is if you don't want a sub in the boot - 6x9s can 'alleviate' the problem. Although, not cure it.

As to how you install 'em - hope you've got the patience of a Saint! (By all accounts, the procedure is comparable to having you wisdom teeth out without any Novocaine....

Not me though - I've got a 5 dr :-)))

Thumbs up

Although you can fit even bigger speakers on the rear shelf!!

The previous onwer had fitted some 8" 3-way Kewood speakers on the rear shelf! I guess you need to take a hacksaw to the shelf to get them in!!!

Sounds great though!!

Lightbulb

The simplest way to do the job is -
* Remove or drop the rear seats.
* Release the cover for the rear shelf
* You will see the speakers screwed into a plate
* Remove the plate
* Cut two bits of MDF to size to fit under the rear shelf
* Depending on speakers, cut hole and mount to underside of MDF

6x9's are easy
8's will take more thought

If money is available you could go for Focal 6" subs !!

Exactly what i have done. currently running Rockford Fosgate 6 x 9 in rear shelf, Although I am using 2 subs in boot, the rear speakers are only for rear fill in case I have passengers.
