Question HI TEMP alarm on Alpine CDA7878R

My head unit keeps flashing up this alarm and turning off the CD player. The radio works fine. It usually happens just after the car is switched on and so the unit is normally cold.

The alarm clears by either switching the radio on and then back to the CD or ejecting the CD and re-inserting it - very annoying on a 150 track MP3 disc!

Are there any fixes for this problem?

Ta

Steve

Could it be condensation on the lens?

I'd give alpine a bell, they're normally very helpful. If it's under warranty, it should be sorted out.

Thanks.

I've spoken to Alpine who would look at it if I sent it to them.

So how do I rmove the head unit from a STi V? I've had the facia in bits when I was fitting my knocklink but couldn't work out how to get the venilation ducts out the way to get at the head unit.

Steve, you shouldn't need to remove the vent ducts... IIRC the STIV is a double DIN unit. You'll need to remove the fascia, then unscrew the cage which is held in with 6 screws, then unbolt the unit from the cage.

I think
