I don't know if there's a hole in the passenger footwell, but there is one in the drivers footwell.
If you look in the engine bay on the firewall, there's an unused grommet about half way down on the drivers side. You need to remove this grommet and poke the wire through. The wire will end up above the drivers feet (although it may be hidden by the floor mat (there's a flap in the floormat).

I used one on the passenger side, you need a old wire coat hanger, tape the wire to the end and feed from the engine bay side through to the passenger footwell. A bit fiddly but it allows you to then feed the cable down the centre cable run or round and under the plastic strip along the side of the door that the carpet tucks into.

Very, very simple.
On the bulkhead on the passenger side, there's a big grommet with a huge loom going through it. The grommet is probably about 2 to 3 inches in diameter.
You can untape the grommet, and fit 4AWG cable through there as well with no problems. Use some fairly liquid, or silicone grease if you have it, and you'll get it through. It turns up in the passenger footwell, above where the carpet starts.
