Question Maximum speaker depth's on a MY04

What’s the maximum depth of speaker that you can get into the front and rear doors on a MY04, with spacers if necessary?
I’m looking at the Blaupunkt VPc165 (6.5inch) for the front 74.5mm mounting depth and the VPc132 (5inch) for the rears 63.5mm mounting

Cheers

Chris

75mm is going to be too deep, even with 12mm spacers. TBH, 75mm is on the larger side of mounting depths, and you can do better than Blau...

I would go for Infinity 6000cs Reference with a depth of 53mm. Use a 12mm mdf spacer and you will be fine.

Left me with 6mm between the glass and magnet (measured using play dough).

I must admit I didn't measure it but I feel there is at least 15mm between the inside of the doorcard and the front of the speaker. I've just fitted a set of Boston Pro 6s to the front of a new Impreza; they've been fitted with a 16mm spacer to clear the glass but as I say still have plenty of space in front. I did however remove some of the plastic ring on the inside of the door card - can't see why It's there in the first place.

Will post some pics for reference soon.

Mo, looking on the Boston web site I think your speakers have a 60mm mounting depth. With the 15 at the front in theory that gives you about 75mm total. Well I'll let you know how I get on as I've just bought some Focal 165kp's off Ebay (77mm mounting depth) so when I get delivery it could be fun! I'll keep you posted! (if needs be I'll put them in the rear parcel shelf!!!)

Cheers

Chris
