I use to have a big 2.5 cubic foot sub box in my car. Some of the guys at the rolling road at Power Engineering would have seen it.

The box was too large for the two 10" Alpine ZR (white cone faces) subs I'm running, so I'm getting a custom box made up at Auto Acoustics in Surrey. This should reduce the box size to about 0.6-0.8 cubic foot, as each sub requires 0.3 cubic foot/9.6 litres. I had to remove a sub so they could get the measurements right, and I should have the box next weekend.

Two reasons for this post....

1) The car drive much better with no box in the back, and the car isn't riding as low at the back now!

2) Auto Acoustics can make up any box, with any trim for about the same money as a ready made box! Why compromise on the box quality for the sake of a couple of quid. (My sealed box for two 10" subs, custom made to fit correctly between the space available and not touching the rear speakers, freeing up more boot space, trimmed in carpet to match the standard boot colour, for the sum of £80!

Regards
Andy
