Question Fitting new stereo and bulbs to centre console. Ver.4

Hi there

Finally got my new toy!! 1998 Ver.4 Impreza WRX Turbo...picked it up yesterday..

Want to fit my Sony stereo to it from my old car and also replace bulb behind the climate control temperature dial.

I dont know where to start with taking the old stereo out, and how do I replace the bulbs.

Hope someone can help, and also if I fit my Sony stereo I'll leave a hole there as the stock radio is a cassete, cd, radio and is huge, what do you guys and girls use to fill the hole up?

Many Thanks

Marco - Now Impreza Owner!!

For a start, you'd get better response by splitting this request, and posting the first in ICE and the second in Electrical.

On my UK '98 car, the stock stereo was a Philips single DIN unit, which came out using a pair of those U shaped wires that insert into holes at the edge and undo catches.

The new Sony went straight in, in it's own "cage"

If yours is double DIN size, someone on ICE will know if there's an adaptor.

Not sure about the aircon switch, AFAIK dealers sell the bulbs for them, or, if you can get it apart, Mapalins etc.
