Alpine radio reception..????
Hi All,
Recently pulled the double din unit out of my scoob, an MY03 WRX Blobby, replaced it with an Alpine CDM-9803 unit. The radio reception is awful..!! I've used all the correct connectors and the Alpine unit was fine in my MINI and the reception of the old double din was fine in the scoob, so that should eliminate the HU and the aerial..?
Any thoughts anyone..???
Nige.

As the aerial is in the rear screen there will be a signal amplifier which requires a feed from the radio. Just check and make sure that this wire is connected.
I've just checked a wiring diagram and it looks like it might be the white one at position 14 in the 14pin socket (with 2 rows of pins) of the Subaru loom.

I've used an autoleads harness adaptor and would have thought the aerial amp lead would be wired up properly. I think I'm going to have to take HU out to have a look. I hope it isn't connected right because if it is, it means I've just got bad reception and won't be able to do anything about it.

Had a similar problem with an Alpine HU in my old CTR. The reception was okay in some places, but rubbish in others.
There is a setting you need to disable IIRC or else it keeps trying to find a better signal, and actually makes it worse. I think it was something like the AF setting.
Once I disabled it in mine, it was superb. No problems at all.
