Question Earthing New HU??

Hope someone can help I beleive this is relativley simple.

Have a new HU to fit in my FTO, connector cable from HU has a loose earth that needs attaching to something.

In the FTO the stereo is attached via two flat plates either side on it (standard stereo cage thing not used) can I attache my earth to one of these plates? Or give that this is in contact with the HU will this not work??

Not too sure on as to what's what re. earthing other than it needs to be done!!

Thanks in advance

Steve

The ground wire must be secured to a good clean metal ground, to make a good return back to the battery.
Most people use a bolt/fixing in the chassis or you may have an existing ground wire behind the stereo that you can join your wire to.
