Electrical genius' please!!
I have fitted a Kenwood DDX7025 to my 04 sti and it works fine, except the sub wont turn on.
I have 12v on the live and checked the continuity on the ground, they are both fine. However the remote (blue/white) comes out of the sub and is joined to the (pink/black) wire out of the head unit. This only has 4.9v when the ignition is on.
A mate has them same sub and his remote has 12v.
Does anyone know what i have done wrong??
cheers chris

I always assumed the remote turn on wires for external amps were Blue or Blue/White... any head units i've worked with have this colour code...
you sure you've wired your remote power wire to the right one?

Alright mate,
the head unit has three wires:
blue/white - power control/motor antenna control cable. connect either to the power control terminal when using the optional power amplifier, or to the antenna control terminal in the vehicle
brown - phone mute
pink/brown - external amplifier control cable. to 'EXT.AMP.CONT.' terminal of the amplifier having the external amp control function.
Am I being thick??!!!
cheers

Pink/Black is "Audio Interrupt" e.g. mobile phone
Blue/White is "Remote Turn-on" e.g. turning on an amp.
So, in my car I have the blue/white connected to my amp. When I turn on the car's ignition, the ignition cable switches on my headunit, which in turn then turns on the amp. Switching the ignition off does the opposite.
Do you have an amp or is the sub powered by the DVD headunit??

I assume the Sub output is turned on in the headunits setup?
I can only find an instruction manual, but it doesn't list any of the wiring diagrams for your headunit - http://kenwood.nl.nt.ims.hr/language...STRUCTIONS.pdf

The pink/black is for connection to some Kenwood amps which allow you to control things like fan on/off, crossover and gain adjustment from the head unit. But as has been said the blue/white is the remote output.
