Guys

Get my new Type 25 next month and am having new speakers and head unit installed as soon as i get it.. But i fancy having a go at doing the insulating of the speakers myself, I had an ice dealer do my current STI7. I have already purchased a role of dynamat extreme, so could anyone advise on where the material is to go in relation to the door speakers. Is it to go behind and around ths speaker...? Also what method do you use to apply, I understand with the exrteme you dont have to heave and roll quite so much as the standard stuff..

Also how does the door panel come off..

Dynamat is used to dampen the metal of the vehicle.
So you should stick it to the door skin inside the door.
It all depends on how much you want to use as it can be heavy.
I would cut 6x6 inch squares and put a few inside the doors.
To apply you need a heatgun/hairdryer to warm the dynamat.
Then stick it to the panel and then squeeze the air out to the edges.
You can use a wallpaper seam roller.
To get the door panel off, there are a number of screws hidden by trim. ie you`ll have to just pull the panel that holds the electric window switches off.
There will be a screw to undo under there.
Also when all the screws are removed, the door is held on with poppers that require you to sharpley pull the panel away from the door.
You will find that the top edge next to the window unhooks upwards once all the fasteners are undone.

I have been told that the dynamat extreme doesnt need heating, just the standard dynamat requires this..

It just helps to make it more pliable.
I usually heat the door panel a bit too.
