Default fitting speakers in front door

Hi there,

I'm quite new to this forum and Impreza's too in general, but recently I have bought a bugeye from 2004(MY02) and since then I read everything I can

This leads to my question. I have the standard speakers, and well we all now it is crap, so I bought some decent Infinitys. What I missed is that instead of the 6000 CS I bought 6500 CS, and these have a depth of 62 mm compared to the 53 mm of the 6000.
Could any of you tell me if I can still fit these or I should go back to the seller and try to change them ?

I'd appreciate any help

Thanks,
B.

There was a thread on here only last week about the same problem.

Have a look back through threads to see how it went.

I looked up and unless I missed it, there is no answer to my question. There was a similar one but it lacks the answer: http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=372150

Hi mate
you need some corsa speaker pockets to achive what you are planning, they are made by autoleads and your local ice specialist will be able to sort you out with some, the pockets are made for the corsa but are a perfect fit for you new-age scooby

Corsa speaker adaptors work a treat for 13 cm speakers - just need to 'adapt' them by putting in a longer screw through the top mounting hole so that the top part of the adaptor is fixed to the original screw mount on the door

I'm really considering to change my speakers now... Is just that they are so good, so I wouldn't want too.
Today I tried to fit them, but I'm not sure they will.
This is how it looks like: I need a separator(MDF) of about 2- 2.2 cm, so that the speaker doesn't touch the glass, but I'm not sure if I can fit the door back; it looks very close anyway and surely if it touches the speaker that is not good. Tomorrow I'll run a test, before I start cutting the MDF, and I'll see if it fits. It's on the edge....

If I succeed, I might take a few pics to share it with anybody interested
