I'm just fitting new alpines to the front doors of my classic and I'm retaining the original wiring for now.

The question is which is the positive and which is the negative wire in the two wires that join the oe speakers?????


I know I'm probably being stupid but I can't work it out.

I'm not sure, and don't sue me if this doesn't work, but don't think testing the either wire against the points will cause any problems.

Or wait for someone who knows!!

By the way, what size are your new speakers for the front, mate? I'm doing mine this week....

After advice on here I paid about 60 squid for a pair of Alpine sxe 1750s. Which are 16cm (6 1/2 inch). I have just glue gunned the tweeters to the grilles and with a bit of care tomorrow the whole kit should be in.

The standard speaker is so poor I'm looking forward to the difference.
