Amp and Speakers
Does anybody know if a Mono amp will run two dual voice coil speakers?
(Hope I got that right - I'm posting this for my brother.....)

Yes it will as long as you get your impedence correct, that is wiring the voice coils correctly, so if you have 2 dual voice coil speakers with 2 ohm V/C's , wire both voice coils on each speaker in parallel(observing polarity +to+ and - to -), that gives each speaker a 1 ohm impedence so if you have two speakers wire them together in series now, again observing polarity, and you have a 2 ohm load for your amp, just make sure that your amp can handle a 2 ohm load!!
Alison / John let me know what the impedence of the speakers are , i can work out which method to use.

Alison/John,
Assuming that they're all the same impedance, if you parallel the two voice coils of one sub, and then run the subs in series, you'll have the equivalent impedance of a single voice coil.
Cheers,
Nick.
