Head unit fuse: LHD=15A, RHD=10A. WTF??
Hi all,
Am just about to install my new Alpine head unit, which I notice draws a maximum of 15 amps. I have the correct Autoleads adaptor for just plugging into the existing loom..... but have just noticed the above in my Impreza Owner's Manual (MY04).
Presumably this is because LHD Imprezas are sold with decent stereos; whereas in the UK, we get the stockpiled old Matsuis.
Question is: do you think I could just swap the 10A fuse straight for a 15A one, which would save me running a dedicated power lead straight to the battery for my new head unit? Surely shouldn't cause a problem if LHD models have a 15A fuse there anyway?
Thanks in advance, all.
Colin.

OK, just ran a search here, and it looks like the general opinion is that it is much better to run the power cable direct to the battery with a 20A fuse.
Never mind..... More work, but might as well do it properly!
