Problem with 6x9's
Right here is a strange one.
Just took the head unit and 6x9's out my bro's car and put them into my missus car. Hooked everything up using new (but slightly thinner) wire to the rear 6x9's only to find that the hardly work at all. I change the settings for rear speakers only and **** me but no bass is coming out and the quality is rubbish. The front speakers are infinity 6" 3 ways and the 6x9 are sony 200w ones. The headunit is a sony 4 x 52 w cd one.
My question is, is the wiring to blame? Before you ask it was cheap 30p/m cable.
Cheers
Stuart
BTW i am crap electrically!

Keep the fader on the rears and turn the balance on the head unit from left (or right) to centre - the bass should be strongest with the balance in the middle, if f it's strongest with just one speaker playing then it's out of phase
To cure - as above BUT only reverse the wiring on ONE speaker ( + and - ) - swapping them on both speakers will just keep them out of phase with each other.
If your satisfied they are ok, use the same technique between the front and rears using the fader. Bass should be strongest with it central, if it's stronger with just the fronts or rear playing on their own, then you need to reverse the wiring on both the rear speakers (+ and -).
