Question 2 Monitor Screens = 2 sets of wires but only 1 set from the head unit??? Help

As above, I have 2 lots of wires (Red, Yellow, white) heading from 2 screens to the head unit but only 1 lot of audio/video out leads from the head unit. To make matters worse the connectors are all the same (Male), so I'm gonna need a female adapter for each, or can I just splice them all together?

Y-pieces is what you need, any decent car hi-fi shop should stock them. What do you mean about the connectors IIRC the connectors are female but if not you should be able to pick up some male/female convertors.

Thanks for that. 'Y pieces', thought there would/should/must be something.
The bit about the connections is that the leads from the head unit (Kenwood) end in male as do the leads from the screens! Maybe there's a Y piece with 3 female connections?

Steve, IIRC the Y-pieces used to come in singles, i.e. one for each RCA.
I'm finding it strange that the ends are male, all the car hi-fi stuff I used to play around with had female connectors from the head unit etc and the RCA leads were male I've never played around with in car TV/DVD so maybe its different, sound like something the chiark would be better to answer sorry mate

you can buy y leads of all types.

does sound strange that the head unit is terminated with male plugs, can't see it being a problem, if you can't find the right ones, adapters will be fine.

You might find that you will loose picture quality if you just use 'Y pieces' ,you might be better getting a signal booster / splitter.

Alpine do booster / splitter's

Question Thanks for replies, got a new problem now!!!

Ok, sorted with Maplins finest adapters etc. (They were 2 sers of female ends btw so sorry for the misleading info).
Got a new problem now though!
The 2 TV Screens have 3 leads red/white/yellow
The head unit has 3 in leads & 3 out leads red/white/yellow

SHOULD be easy? red to red, white to white, yellow to yellow...........oh no!

The TV leads are: Red: "Video2"
White: "Audio"
Yellow: Video1"

The head unit leads are: Red:"Audio Right"
White: "Audio Left"
Yellow: "Visual"

Therefore TV has 2 video & 1 Audio, Head unit has 2 audio & 1 video.

So much for a 'straight forward job' (Quote from screens salesman )
Anyone any ideas before I give in and pay someone to sort it!
Cheers
Steve

you need to put yellow from head unit to Yellow on TV ,the TV audio ones don't need to be connected as your sound will be going thru your cars speakers.
The reason there's only one in-put for audio for the TV is that they have a mono speaker in them ,you would need to get a 2 to 1 phono plug to connect the two head unit audio outputs into one.

The other Video input on the TV is for a ps2 etc.
