Question MY02 Cassette adapter woes

Probably not the best place to talk about a £10 cassette adapter and the standard h/u in amongst the threads of high end replacements, but...

I bought the adapter to run the audio from TomTom Navigator on my iPAQ through the standard head unit. In the wife's Alhambra I popped the cassette in, selected the input and set the iPAQ playing a Darkness demo and all was fine (and surprisingly decent quality)...

In the Scoob, the head unit swallows the cassette, chews it over for a moment and then spits it out... Doesn't matter which 'side' I use, it's just not happy. Anybody managed to get a cassette adapter to work at all ? I'd just like to know if it's this particular phillips model or something generic about the head-unit and cassette adapters.

Cheers in advance
Dox.
