CD question
#1
I have recently traded in my Impreza for a new Legacy which has a tape
adio. The sound is pretty good but I want a CD playerchanger. I want to get a CD playerchanger put in at at its 1,000 mile service at a Subaru garage so I am tied into whatever thet provide. What should I put in? Any advice would be very welcome.
PS: I had to change the Impreza!!! for a number of reasons, not of my making.
regards,
Peter.

Don't do it.
Get a CD player from anywhere but a dealer. They usually put in the cheapist equipment and charge you a small fortune.
Changing the audio equipment will not effect your warrenty on the rest of the car.
Even if you purchase your own equipment and get your dealer to fit it is better (most dealers would do this).
According to my dealer, fitting a CD changer in the boot is a nightmare, as there is nothing to fix it to.
A decent Head unit and Changer will cost around £400 - £500, but dealer will usually charge £500+ for cheap Cr@p.
Good makes to go for are Alpine and Kenwood. Sony produce good stuff as well.

i agree, dont let dealer choose or supply.
go to a decent car audio shop and have a look around. talk to any friend / colleagues who've purchased the likes of Pioneer / Kenwood / Sony / Panasonic / Alpine etc
Or check out a mag like In Cars for reviews and features.
My dealer fitted my Pioneer head unit and 12 disc changer into my new MY00 no problem.
