Dynamat equivalent from builders merchants?

Dynamat equivalent from builders merchants?
I remember but can't search for a thread several weeks ago that mentioned a building material that Dynamat is allegedly made from?
Can anyone name that stuff as I want to do a large area but don't want to spend the bucks.

Is this what you meant?
Available in different widths too. I tried to buy it from a local plumber's merchant and was quoted 4 times that price for half the length!!!

I've tried some of this stuff but it has nothing like the weight and rigidity of the basic dynamat, nevermind Dynamat Extreme.
It needs to be a dense bitumen-based tape with a thick foil backing to be equivalent.

Flashing is what you're looking for. I've used marley flashing tape before with some success.
A couple of points:
- it ain't as effective as "proper" stuff on a weight vs effect basis
- it tends to slide down panels when it gets hot...
Other than that, it's a cheap solution and is worth looking at.
