Default can you use a hi fi cd cleaner to clean an auto changer laser?

The disc changer is starting to jump again and just wondered if the laser needed cleaning so a mate says to try an ordinary hifi lense cleaner. Not too sure on this one as I thought it might be no good but just wondered what you guys and gals thought about it,Has any one else tried this or maybe something else perhaps, and if you dont think it could be the laser what do you think it could be? I dont fancy taking it down to a ice shop to get ripped off for something daft so thought maybe you can help.

cheers

I know about this!

I have a Kenwood 6 disc changer which starts skipping and jumping about every six months. I put one of those CDs with the brush embedded into the plastic into one of the plastic holders that sit in the magazine, and it wouldn't work.

Trick is to take out all the other plastic holders and leave the one with the cleaning disc in it at the top so the brush points down into empty space. Then it is fine and problem's solved!

Neil.
