aah, you're on talkaudio then?

They won't fit easily in an 01+, and you are probably looking at door builds in an 03+.

You should get them to fit in a classic quite easily as I got 72mm to fit with MDF baffles.

Nice speakers.

It's a MY04 WRX, so I guess that means they'll fit with spacers?

I wouldn't think so, no.

I had to have door builds to get 72mm to fit in the 03. The 03 and 04 have shallower door cards than the 01/02 apparently.

Sorry... They are door cards that have been modified to take larger speakers.

Sorry for my ignorance.

Why do you need different door cards for deeper speakers? I thought it was just spacers required?

Wouldn't that cost a fortune as I won't be doing any of the install myself?

You'll need door builds 'cos as Chiark says, there isn't enough space (depth) to mount the speakers without them sticking out from the existing door finish.

It could cost anything from £200 - £500, depends on who you get to do them.

Standard mounting depth is laughable - you're looking at 3cm or thereabouts. You can get 12mm mdf under the door cards without hassle, but beyond that you're knackered.

The rainbows are good speakers. It's almost tempting to buy 'em and just make 'em fit, but be aware that you may be setting yourself up for a job, that's all!

Cheers,
Nick.

thanks for all this help nick

So are thet standard speakers 5.25"?

Sounds like it might be a much better plan to get some 5.25" as they're genrally about 45mm deep, which I guess is fine with spacers.
