Question

Any one installed a radio in a P1 or Jap import (I'm assuming the connections are the same) themselves? I'm wondering what adaptors you used etc. I want to put my UK Sony head unit into my P1

Question

What info did you need to give them? Did they need the wiring diagrams etc?

No, they just made it up from following the wires to the orginal locations to tell what each wire was.

Worked first time too

Checked the wiring harnesses in halfords today and i know that one is available to connect directly to the cars harness (my car 95 wrx) and any head unit with ISO connectors. I think its special order though. Worth checking out for the newer cars.

I tried halfords, they had one listed but a trawl around all the local stores drew a blank for my my98 with them saying that we have to keep trying stores till we found it.....

Yeah, I had similar joy with Halfords. If it's not on the shelf, they're not interested. Their salespeople only seem to be able to operate a till!

Autoleads are the guys who supply Halfords.

I was told last week that the harness listed in store for "impreza '92 on" (code PC2-44-4), will fit all imprezas, uk spec or import.

I have one on order-delivery due at the start of the week-so I'll let you know as soon as I get my hands on it.

Thumbs down

I'd be surprised if that's true - I fitted my Sony head unit to my 99 UK impreza myself, and I've had a look at my new P1's fittings, and they're not the same. My head unit came with several different connectors, none of which fit the P1.

Let us know as soon as you get the lead eh!

Got the lead today from Halfords and it does indeed fit my 95 wrx (even though it is only listed for uk spec cars in their catalogue).

Best 10 quid i've spent-finally got a decent cd player in the car
