Question

I've recently picked up my gleaming new P1, minus any ICE.
Am fitting a Sony CD Head this weekend to test the speakers. If they're not up to the job I'd like to fit some 6x9's in the back.

Does anyone know if they'll drop straight in without butchering the rear parcel shelf?

They sure do.

Just got some Kickers fitted.

Fitted from beneath leaving original grills in place - no advertising.

Hi Gizmo,

Could you let me know the model number for the FAQ?

Cheers!

Hi

Got I5.2 's in the front. That's components - 2 x 5.25 inch midbass/midrange, 2 x tweeters, 2 x crossovers.

Tweeters mounted in door where Subaru don't fit any.

Got I6903 in the rear - thats 2 x 6x9 3 way speakers.

Price £155 fronts, £125 rears there or there abouts.

Mark

Assuming the P1 has the same parcel shelf as a MY98 4-door, have a look at

Gizmo

The P1 sounds like its already got tweeters ?
I'm taking the doors off this weekend to check it out though.

Probably try some Bostons components while there off to see the differance.

Cheers

Fitted some MB Quart 6x9's in the rear - mounted from below, beneath original grills. Not perfect as obviously the entire speaker surface is not exposed as they would beneath MB Quart grills but a good compromise if you want to avoid cutting the shelf which you need to watch as the bootlid mounting could be weakened.
Unless you are some sort of bass junkie the bass from the MB Quarts is sufficient - and the bonus is that the speakers were only £90 and won a recent "shoot-out" ina certain boys car mag.
