Hello all,
It's possible that i've got a similar problem to Rob..
I've just replaced the standard fit Phillips unit with my trusty old Kenwood (657RC) unit, in the hope of being able to recieve any radio stations at all. Unfortunately I STILL can't pick anything up (apart from radio 1 very fuzzily). Has anyone got any advice on what I should do now? It's a 4dr MY97, so (presumeably) there's not much I can do about the standard aerial? Can I get some sort of booster, or is that not the problem?
Thanks in advance...
Hubs.

If I remember correctly, I think you can get an ariel booster from the Maplin catalogue (available from WH Smiths) It costs about £5. They are available from Car stero shops for between £5-10. Good luck

Before you spend any money on the booster, pull the radio out of the dash. Leaving it all connected up, remove the aerial connector. Get an old metal coathanger, or long screwdriver and touch the central conductor of the aerial connector on the radio (you wont damage the radio or yourself). Turn the radio on and tune it in. If you get stations I would say the aerial lead is knackered and you need to look at fitting a new aerial and lead - trying to fix the current one is possible but probably not worth it. If its a knackered aerial a booster wont help.
