Wotcha.

I'm looking to buy a single din sat nav system to replace a standard fit stereo. What's the best single din sat nav system available at the moment? One with HD support for MP3 would be ace!

Question

Alright Cem?

AFAIK, the Alpine is still the best single din and can be linked with the HDD unit they do (if there is room for it in the car).

Elo Alex,

Do you have any experience with the Alpine unit? It's almost £400 more expensive than the becker unit, would you think it to be a lot better?

apparently the pioneer single din is the est unit, but I had heard it was literally a rebadged becker unit.

Don't think it uses the same risc based processor as the totr dvd system made by pioneer which is reputedly the best.

I do know that the sat nav can be made to interrupt the radio or even replaced by a normal cd, so that once your destination has been chosen you can continue to use the stereo as normal.

Most single din nav units dont allow this.

I too am interested in options here, I want to replace the standard double Din unit with the Alpine CTA1505R I had in my RB5, the question is what to do with the remaining space,

1) Either fit a pocket
2) Investigate Sat Nav options compatible with my existing head unit
3) Fit a S.E.C.S Monitor

Out of the three options the Sat Nav is probably the more useful, therefore any advice would be very gratefully received.

The pio is the best unit by far, you just get a very short lead to connect the Head unit to the nave box. Touch screen, DVD, DVD-A, MP3 awesom bit of kit
