could you tell me if when you buy a navigation unit dose it come with the software. I have just bought a N033 single din alpine navi unit from an internet dealer and now I have paid he wants more money for the software? Is this right or is he trying to have my pants down? If so has anyone out there got a back up COPY I could buy or borrow or know where I could a copy
TIA

I'd say he's trying it on. Get onto Alpine would be my best advice, and see what they say.

I suspect that you may find that you've bought an import, which is why it doesn't have a UK/EU disc, which is why he's trying to roger you. The unit should have some navi disc with at, as all units worldwide will include a disc and a license for that region.

Legally, you I suspect that you cannot use someone's backup copy without a license so please don't ask for a copy on scoobynet.

Cheers, and good luck!
Nick.

Actually, the Alpine single-DIN is a bit of a bugger as the nav disc is listed with a separate part number and there's also a bundle of the head unit and the disc.
