Help! Classic Wagon speaker sizes and makes?
#1
I have a SONY MP30 (4x50W) head unit installed but still have the standard speakers in MY00 wagon. And they’re not very impressive. So I'm going to fit upgraded one front and rear, but I don't know what’s the best ones to get.
I'm not looking for ear bleeding volume or wanting to loosen the body panels. I do want good sound and enough volume. Is it worth changing the tweeters too?
Also is the earthing wire that was attached to the standard unit that important?
Cheers

Just upgraded my MY97 Wagon. I put 6.5"(165cm) Infinity 6502i in front £70 (but have since seen these for £50 DOH!) and 5" (135cm) Sony xPlods in back £40 (again probly get these cheaper if U shop around). I had to ditch the black plastic bits that originals sat in and made MDF collars (18mm front) and put plastic RAIN jackets on 'em!!
The rear ones are on show at the moment as they touched the grilles (I'll either get some 6 x 9 grilles or take 10mm MDFcollars off these as I ran out of time & light!)
The Cheeky Girls never sounded better!!!
Seriously though I can't beleive how clear and good my tunes sound now. My 'Gomez-Bring it on' CD is absolutely top dollar!
Small sub & amp is next. My amp is already to go.
All the best and hope this helps. Darren
