Question

I'm looking to put in a 5 channel amp: powering 2 fronts (with seperate tweeters) and 2 rears and probably a sub.
Any recommendations?
Being cheap like I am (Yorkshireman afterall) then I was thinking of a Dragster DA606. Any comments?
I don't really want to put in multiple amps as I like to keep some boot space....

Hodge,

Just gone through the same dilema as you have. Wanted fronts and backs and subs but have very little room in boot as it is and didn't want to mess with two or more amps.

Sorry, do not know anything of the amp. you mention.

I eventually waited until the new Kicker IX405D came into the country and got the first one .

It is actually a 4 channel amp but with an additional class D amp for the subs, but all in one box and with one set of power cables.

Have a look at it at:

Other very well tried and tested brands for 5 channel amps are:
I must admit that I was tempted to go down this route, but decided to go for good 4 channel and big bass amp in case I want to be a basshead again.

You may find a 605 for sale on ebay from a bloke called Craga. I bought a 604 from him for a very good price, as did a friend. You'll need to search for "items available to this country".

I went for the new SoundStream Lil-Wonder 5 in the end.
    Thanks for the advice.

There is very good 5 chanel V12 Alpine - look in the adverts in the magazines for details. I have the 4 chanel version which is superb. About 4 x 130watts for £250

I didn't think the 5 ch. SoundStream was unreasonable at £399.
Although they don't quote figures it's typically believed to be 4x40+120 and it seems to be powerful enough for me.
