had my MY03 wrx for about a month now & the total lack of decent bass is doing my head in. I was thinking about adding a sub -I'm not after anything massive - the last thing i want is driving along watching the headlights fading in time to the music...

how hard is it to add a sub?
Are there RCA outs on the back, or is there a connector / adaptor available to give RCA outs from the standard (type A) head unit?

You'll need this adaptor, which converts your speakers ISO plug to a pair of RCA plugs.

If you still want to run your standard speakers from the head unit, you will have to splice the adaptor in (easy - colour coded).

The whole system is rubbish to be honest. The general consensus is to junk the headunit and replace with a single DIN quality unit, replace the front door speakers with something better that the current cardboard efforts and apply some dynamat to the doors.

Then you've te option to add amps and subs 'cos you've got a headunit that can cope...
