Question

On my bugeye I had my kenwood shuttle underneath the parcel shelf and it skipped I assumed it was the shuttle but in my My03 i've put my alpine shuttle in the same place and it was fine to start off with but now skips every now and again.

I'm thinking this is down to where it is, has anyone else fitted thiers in the same place and did/do you have problems with it?

Not sure if its related but its got worse since the cold weather started.

Thanks
Sam

Sam,

It'll get worse in the cold as the suspension won't be quite as malleable.

Put the changer above an axle and you'll have troubles in any car.

Mine is under the passenger seat and has never skipped. Bolt it to the chassis firmly, as having it flapping around can cause it to skip.

Cheers,
Nick.

The last time I installed a Pioneer it recommended mounting over the shocks in a vertical arrangement. Also there were settings on the changer to adjust the damping on the changer to suit its mounting position. If this is set wrong than the damping will not be working correctly.

I've also had them fitted to the underneath of the passenger seat facing forward.
