I've got 1k to spend on a full system which will be replacing the old wrx02 standard system.

what I would like for my money.
(1)A nice looking double dim unit that plays CD & radio , MP3 would be a bounus but not a must.
(2) Need A good old amp that is reliable.
(3) some speakers that will keep up with my deep base notes, The system I have at the moment starts to degrade at sound level 23 if you get my drift.

TIA when it comes to ICE I have no idea so appriciate the help

MM

Head unit - 300 -350 quid max will get you tip top h/u with all features you could ever want IMHO... Unless you want DVD.

Amp - second hand soundstream 604 or something like that will set you back 150 notes. Phoenix Gold Z450 for about 200. Don't buy new, that's a mug's game

Speakers - You're left with around 300 quid. Again, at that level I don't believe you can go far wrong. I like CDTAudio, which CarAudioDirect have just put in their shop, but DLS, Focal, Dyn, Crystal and many others are stonking and about that money.

Maybe add a sub later, or change the budget around and add a pair of Genesis 6x9 subs at 150 quid?

Cheers,
Nick.

I used to work for one of the country`s top ICE installers,I now do a bit in my spare time.

I`ve got pics of installs Ive done if you`d like...
Anyway I`ve just got my Scooby and I`m putting in Phoenix Gold qx180.2 and qx900.1 amps.
Ive got an Alpine MP3 HU.
Ive got a 10"HX2 Rockford sub, however I`m currently looking for a pair of decent front components and I`m thinking of Rockford fanatics or Phoenix Gold tantrums or Boston acoustics...
These are on cel-direct.com

Hope this helps a bit?

1k to spend hey?? I would say alpine head unit, boston/focal/rainbow fronts, 4 channel amp - say genesis profile 4 secondhand - i agree with Chiark - and a JLw3 10" sub, or rears or 12" sub, you've got a nice budget to play with there. I take it you've budgeted for insatalltion - or are you doing this yourself?

cheers
