Nice units the Pioneers, just hope it dont go wrong for ya, the flexi-ribbon is a known weak point on those units.

Nice head unit, and good choice of Sub, what amp have you powering it? People on here complain of not enough sound getting from the boot of the saloon to the cabin, how does yours sound?

Does the stereo work with front in the up position? I really like the contemporary look without all the flashing screens etc.

Yea the stereo works fine in the closed position, real nice slim lcd display in white. The only reason you ever need open it is if you need to change any audio setting like bass/trebble etc.

I like yourself like it in the closed position, buts its sometimes nice to have a few fancy images when guests are in the car

Ow and the Sub is running off a Kenwood 1x1000w Amp and yes you can hear it in the boot with no problems!
May upgrade the sound in the back soon as most of the sound is in the front apart from the back door speakers which you can harldy hear.

Hi Fragal, SNAP! I've just bought a my01 and am fitting a new stereo system in, I have just got my dealer to fit the same head unit in as yours , minus phone mount. I have fitted Pioneer 8" speakers in rear shelf diy builds & i'm now building some front door builds to house my Focal polykevlar 6.5" K2 component speakers! Could you tell me how you put those great photos on with you text as I'm new to Scoobynet? Cheers H8NS K
