Has anyone fitted the CK3000 to their scooby. I have just got a T610 and want to know if

1) Bluetooth car kits are any good (or whether they are a pain)
2) Whether there are any problems fitting to new age.

Thanks

Thumbs up

Fitted the Sony/Ericsson Bluetooth kit to my classic a couple of weeks ago.

Incoming calls are answered with one button, clarity and reception are excellent "Just like you're on a land line" (with T610)

Outgoing calls are a bit more tricky as you have to voice dial, if you're stressed your voice changes pitch and the phone won't recognise the voice tag, and you'll have to record a voice tag for everyone you'll ever want to phone (preferably with the kit installed and car running).

All in all a good system that I'd recommend.

Fittings easy,

4 wires to splice in (I used din cable to stereo) Live, switched live, earth and mute.
Speaker and mic wires to route through dash.
As far as I know it's new regs compliant as you don't have to hold the phone to dial.

Also have Sony-Erikson blue tooth kit. Excellent.
Would agree re voice dialling, occasionally doesn't recognise. Seems to be better at recognising 2 syllable words rather than one

I bought one of these and actually had it fitted to my MY03 WRX briefly. Seemed to work fine (Nokia 6310). Bought it cos I was changing head unit and the people who originally installed my genuine Nokia Hands Free kit really made a mess of the wiring and I thought I'd have problems with that kit. But in the end I managed to sort it out.

So I have an as-new Parrot CK300 for sale if you want it - make me an offer!

Agree that as you don't have to hold the phone it should be exempt - but you most definitely can still be charged with driving withoue due care and attention if you're involved in an accident and it can be proved that the phone call was a contributing factor.

Wink

The kit has really come down in price - I can get a new one for £100 but fitting will at least double that.

What I am trying to decide is whether to get a normal car kit or a bluetooth one.

Thanks for the offer though m8

Fitting really would be easy mate - the work of an hour at the most.

Yes,

Bluetooth is legal (unlike other basic handsfee kits I believe) after December 2003 as stated in the new Orange guide sent out this month with all customer bills.

Fitting is a doddle. You'll have no problem with wiring if you already have an ISO head unit. If you have a Subaru original head unit you may have to do some splicing I think!!!! Or you'll need a scoob to iso convertor and also an iso to scoob convertor - not sure if they exist.

Another reason I went back to the Nokia kit is cos I use 2 different phones and you can't link 2 phones to the parrot at the same time - with the nokia one I can just pull one out and plug the other one straight in.

Biggest problem I have is I am crap at taking dashouards apart and I wouldn't know which wire to splice - and if I did I would probably start a fire.

Could anyone recommend someone who could fit a CK3000 in Hampshire?

Can you use the speed dial legally after December?

You know, when you hold down a number. Surely thats the same as pressing any other button to receive a call?

As far as I can tell from the regs, as long as you're not actually holding the phone, you're ok.
