im adding to my sound system with a 2 x 300 watt amp connected to a 12 inch sony explod 1200 watt sub in a ported box. i am putting the amp under the drivers seat, i need to know where i can connect it to a power source. straight to the battery? how would a route a power cable to the engine bay? earting point? also, if i wanted to run the amp to the front door speakers, how would i wire this?

Your amp will need to be connected straight to the battery for the +12 volt feed, you can earth it with a bolt next to the amp, you may have to drill into the floor for this though. You will have to feed a remote cable to your amp from you head unit, this is usually blue in colour. Don't forget the RCA cables too.

To get the +12 volt feed, is the car an impreza? has it got air-con, if not theres a nice big grommit on the passenger side of the bulk head that is ideal for getting cables into the cabin.

Also don't forget the fuse, which needs to be positioned as close to the battery as possible.

Hi mate, it's easy - go through the same grommet as the aircon.

Can't think why you need aircon where you live
