Kenwood mask - RIP ! :(
#1
I've heard that it's quite common for the 'ribbon' connector on the mask units to 'break'. I'm assuming that's what has happened as the flip front is not responding and is a bit 'loose'.
Question is can I fix it myself with spare part or is it a 'Car Audio Shop' job ?
Advice appreciated as always....

You csn order the parts from 02085792872, this is Kenwoods parts department. Fitting shouldn't be too much of a problem although you will need something like a watch makers screwdriver. Depending on the model you may have to solder the connector (which plugs in to the face plate) to the J lead.
Definately worth trying, the J lead (ribbon cable) is about £13.
Cheers

Dave - really appreciate your help. Just spoke to Mike on the number quoted. He's got to be about the nicest bloke I've ever spoken to He's sending me the Jlead - cost £13 as you say.
Hopefully fitting it will be just as painless.
Thanks again.
