Bit of a long shot, but your passenger doesn't always carry a mobile phone (or pager) do they? These send bursts of data occasionally which can result in a pretty loud burst of noise for about 5-10 seconds. When on a call, it'll be a constant interference. Interference is normally worse the closer the phone is to the head unit or amp.

I'm wracking my brains and that's all I can think of. There's no speaker connections under the passenger seat at all, and the connection for the driver's speaker is nowhere near there.

Erm. Er. Weird. Let me know on the mobile or pager thing otherwise I'll not sleep

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll test it out.

When I have a passenger I get an intermitent repetative noise for about 5-10 seconds every few minutes from the driver's speaker that is really annoying. This never happens when I am alone in the car and assume that it may be a speaker connection under the passenger seat if there is one. This happens both on radio and tape with the music carrying on behind this extra noise. It only affects the driver's side speaker. Any ideas? I will be going to North West Scotland on holiday next week and will be spending a lot of time in the car, I could end up barmy.

I think the mobile phone suggestion is correct, if your travelling on the motorway or fast A roads it becomes quite a pain.
Each cell the mobile phone moves through, it communicates it's new position (or something like that). I did a trip to Harrogate on Wednesday, and travelling down the M62/M1, I got the interference every 10/20 seconds.

Darren.

Wink

You get a repetitive noise from the stereo? Might I suggest that you throw away the Five tape. (Sorry, couldn't resist it)
