I think the fact that people don't use 'em probably tells you what you need to know...

www.talkaudio.co.uk has some bass tubes etc in the classifieds section as a stock clearout, saying prices are going as cost. i noticed quite a few there, but

1 there are quite a few of them and
2 they want to get rid of them at stock price

would suggest the above posts!!

Try the Infinity Bass Link X if that's the sort of thing you're after - less boomy than a tube and has a grunty amp. With a bit of digging you should get one for £160.

In the States the Basslink has a reasonable reputation but you should be clear on what it does & does not do and also what you want.

It sounds good on most acoustic program material. In other words, that which does not exercise it to the extreme. If you listen to dance, trance, house or techno, it does not perform very well IMO. Better than not having anything, but it runs out of gas quickly when you turn it up.

I had one briefly and re-sold it within a month. I found that a single 10" subwoofer, small amplifier and homebuilt box was far more suitable to what I wanted.

So, depending on your listening tastes & expectation, it is either going to be perfect or not suitable at all.

My 2 cents!
