I've got a Panasonic DVD + nice little flat screen TV that came in my 95WRX when it was imported. The navigation DVD seems to work ok but I tried a Film DVD but I think that it couldn't deal with this - the startup screen for the player comes on then a message appears on screen in Japanese. I wonder if there's any chance that this might be able to play films or is it somehow programmed to only read navigation discs ?

can you post a picture of the message it displays? I could ask my wife to translate.

It might not like your PAL discs - even though its still region 2.

thanks for the offer - I'll try get some photos.
The DVD unit has Navigation System does seem to indicate that it's a navigation system so it may well be that other types of discs are a complete no-no.
