Power cap
Just a quick question by running a 1farad power cap inline in thr stereo system does this not drain the battery at all when the car is left parked up?? I have no idea as never used one if these in a system before so all new to me

A cap (or capacitor) is just a passive piece of electronics.
It's intended to provide a large, immediately available reserve of power if the bass hits, or at least that's the theory.
A cap permanently connected will draw absolutely bugger all current to speak of and would take months/years to flatten a battery. Your alarm will do it much faster
Cheers,
Nick.

...but not if you're using a split charge or diode. Besides, 1 farad of capacitance at 12V contains 144 joules of energy... That's enough to run a 100W motor for slighly over a second.
It won't help starting
