Adapter for ariel on Alpine?

I seem to have a problem fitting the lead from the Alpine unit to the OE ariel cable...the unit is an ISO connection but the OE lead is standard (it's a male connector with long thin shaft). Is it norm to buy an adapter or should I be doing something different?

Think you need an adaptor, Halfords or any car hi-fi shop stock them.

but lucky for me,,i got a m8 whos an auto electrician and he just happened to have a spare 1 :-)

Sorted...Halfords have loads of adapters...found the one for standard to ISO fitting (althought the guy in the shop said it's the wrong adapter....DOH!) Fitted it and put tape around it as this adapter has no shield.
