Help: Dension MP3 stopped working

Had to remove my headunit and dash trim to install a new knocklink. Put everything back the way it was and now I can't get my headunit to recognise my external Dension MP3 player
It uses the same cable as an Alpine CD Changer, but when I press the source button it just jumps between the radio and the internal CD Player.
Wiring all looks fine and I've removed it before without any problems.
Does anyone know if I have to change some setting on the HU for it to use a CD Changer?
Dash is in bits, so want to sort it before I put it all back together.

If the unit was working fine then check ALL your connections, make sure you push all the connectors home well, also check cable for any scuffs, cuts etc that might of happen when uninstalling/reinstalling

Thanks,
The only cables on the headunit are:-
a) the main cable block (speakers, power, etc..)
b) Front RCA speaker
c) aerial
d) sub-woofer (not used)
e) CD Changer
I've double and triple checked all cables and still can't see why it's not working.
It's like it doesn't recognise that the changer (in my case the Dension MP3) is plugged in
The changer cable is very thick and I wrapped it in lecky take too make sure it wouldn't get stripped on the sharp metal behind the dash. There's some marks on it, but it's not worn through the protective tape.

Lee YHM.
To summarise, I checked the 12v supply at the Dension CarHost end and got nothing. Don't know the pin-outs at the other ends - adaptor connection (where the RCA inputs are) or on the headunit (hmm, thinking my manual should supply that).
Can you confirm what the pin-outs are on the Dension adaptor and I'll check tonight.

Was your MP3 player running in AUX mode? When I connected my IPOD to my Alpine I had to switch the AUX setting to on, and as you disconnected your head unit it may have reset this.
Don't know if this helps at all.

Hi Richard,
No the Dension emulates the Alpine changer, so AUX is (should) be disabled. I check this on the headunit, but it's made no difference.
The Dension drive works fine in my PC, so either the port on the HU has gone or it's the cable (or adaptor) or it's the car host caddy.
I suspect the cable or HU, but can't say for sure until I start metering things.
