Question

The sound system in the standard 03 WRX is dire, the advice i need is this:

Is it the speakers or head unit that is all 'midrangey', anyone know where i can get the spec on the head unit?

Also if its the head unit, whats the clarion ADZ628R like?

Thanks Peeps

Simon

I have an STI7 and i have spoken to some ICE pros and they say that it is a combination of the head unit being poor and the speakers, they say for 200 notes (for a decent head unit) and 80 notes for a half decent set of speakers it can be made to sound a whole lot better.. They get loads of scoobs in so know what they are talking about.

hope this helps

Jim's summed it up really - it's a combination. The midrange "honk" (dunno of a better word for it) is the speakers though. Mind you, the amp in the head unit isn't up to much either

Head unit.

I'm still running around with standard speakers and replacement head unit, and it's a good improvement.

Deffo start with the head unit...it doesn't matter if you have the best speakers in the world if the set is pumping out crap!
